Bridgedale Outdoor Ltd is based at the tip of the Strangford Lough, Newtownards, near Belfast in Northern Ireland under the shadow of the Scrabo Tower which was built as a monument to Lord Londonderry.

The factory has been knitting socks in Newtownards since 1910 when the first army socks were made. The strong heritage in hosiery is a feature of the Bridgedale brand. One of our team, Bertie, has been working in the factory for over 50 years. Although 67 years old he is still excited by the new machinery we are investing in. You could say we know our socks!

When the first Bridgedale socks were launched in the early 1980's there were
3 colours: Red, Green and Navy, 2 sizes: 4-7 and 7-11 and 2 lengths: Boot or Knee. A total of 12 products.

We now have over 400 products in the range!
